A prospective observational study of functional outcome of pott’s fracture managed with operative modalities

Introduction: The movement around the ankle joint is very important because of cultural practices, which involve squatting and sitting cross-legged. Bimalleolar Pott’s fractures are common in injuries increased incidence road traffic accidents industrial trauma. Accurate reduction for a painless joint. AIM: To study functional outcome surgically managed closed bimalleolar adults; to evaluate restoration anatomy malleoli perfectly by operative treatment with internal fixation; assess union after surgical management; achieve stable fixation early mobilization ankle. Materials Methods: We have evaluated clinical, radiological outcomes 50 patients treated different modalities, include - tension band wiring (TBW), Kirschner (K)-wire, malleolar screw (MS) cannulated cancellous screws (CCS) medial malleolus fracture rush nail, one-third tubular plate, fibular locking plate lateral fracture. Results: present open fixation. Excellent results were achieved 27 (54%) patients, good 14 (28%), Fair 5 (10%) Poor 4 (8%) patients. patient poor had mild pain activities daily living, diminution abilities run do work, reduced motion narrowing space.Conclusion: Closed often inadequate restoring proper biomechanics anatomical structure an injured joint, excellent method. Treating use anatomic was found be effective.
